COMUNE DI VICENZA
La Bandiera Tricolore esposta su questo pennone è il vessillo di Vicenza,
unica città d'Italia decorata con due Medaglie d'Oro al Valor Militare.
Per ricordare dunque il valore dei vicentini Tutti e per offrire al Re
un simbolo tangibile dell'unità d'Italia, all'atto della decorazione,
Il Consiglio Comunale nella seduta del 5 novembre 1866 decise di adottare
la Bandiera Tricolore con lo stemma della Municipalità inserito nella parte centrale.
Nel ricordo della Battaglia di Monte Berico, 10 giugno 1848,
e dell'attività partigiana durante la II° guerra Mondiale. |

The Tricolour Flag fluttering on this mast is the Vexillum of Vicenza,
the only Italian city to have been decorated with two Gold Medals of Military Valour.
Hence, to remember the valour of All Vicentines and to offer the King a tangible
symbol of the unity of Italy, on decoration,
the Town Council during the session of November 5, 1866 decided to adopt
the Tricolour Flag with the Municipality crest depicted in the middle.
In remembrance of the Battle of Mount Berico, that took place on June 10,1848
and of acrivities of the partisan forces during World War II. |
